FIELDS OF EXPERTISE
SUBLIMATION PRINTING
Digital printing is replacing traditional methods in different branches of the graphics and garments industry. Faster, cleaner, and more efficient. There are multiple reasons for this shift but the main drivers are cost- efficiency, possibility to personalise the prints, the flexibility of these machines and speed to market.
This is no other match to this in the textile/home printing business. Traditional screen printing is replaced with digital printing solutions like sublimation printing. Thus bigger advantage for shorter production runs and prints that can obtain multiple colours and photographic imagery.
How sublimation printing works:
The key is to treat polyester substrates with heat and pressure. Once transferred, the dyes actually become part of thefibres or polyester coatings without changing the feel of the substrates.
Sublimation printing is different from other printing processes in that it is essentially a two step process: Paper is printed with sublimation dyes; heat and pressure are applied to the
paper, and the image on the paper is dyed into the white fabric or other substrate.
Before being transferred, the printed image on paper looks very different from the final printed product. Visually, the dyes explode with color when transferred, as they actually become part of the fabric or substrate.
What kind of fabric can be printed?
- 100% Polyester - Acrylic - Polyester/Spandex - Poly/Cottons - Triacetate - Microfibre - Fleece -
The dye sublimation inks are a disperse dye suspended in a liquid solvent, like water. The images are initially printed on coated heat-resistant transfer paper as a reverse image of the final design, which is then transferred onto polyester fabric in a heat press operating at a temperature around 180 to 210 C (375 F).
DIGITAL PRINTING
IT´S GREEN - SAVE WATER, SAVE THE PLANET
Technology
Most commercially available printed fabric uses rotary screen printed; each print run is typically several thousand yards. The high minimums are due to the cost and time required to prepare a unique set of screens, with each color in a design requiring a separate screen. The main advantage of digital printing is the ability to do very small runs of each design (even less than 1 yard) because there are no screens to prepare.
Modern printing methods such as laser and ink-jet printing are known as digital printing. In digital printing, an image is sent directly to the printer using digital files such as PDFs and those from graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator. This eliminates the need for a printing screens, which is used in rotogravure and table or flat-bed printing. This saves you time and money. Without the need to create screens, digital printing has brought about fast turnaround times and
customised printing on
demand.
The inks used in digital printing are formulated specifically for each type of fibre (cotton, silk, polyester, nylon, etc). During the printing process, the
special paper is fed through the printer using rollers and ink is applied to the surface
in the form of thousands of tiny droplets
The CMYK color model
(four colour) is a subtractive colour model,
used in colour printing, and is also used to
describe the printing process itself.
CMYK refers to the four inks used in digital
printing:
cyan magenta yellow black
Advantages of Digital Printing:
- Instead of having to print large, pre-determined runs, requests can be made for as little as one better/yard.
- Can achieve many prints that are not possible with the conventional method
- Faster results
- No restriction on the number of colours or size of repeat / outstanding florescents
- Reduced wast / Cost effective
Possibilities:
Personalisation! Every yard you print can be completely customized and personalized. Print fabric with names and numbers, t-shirts, pillowcases, etc. Every item in your line can come in a different color. You can also do more practical kinds of customization, like creating sequentially numbered team jerseys.
Lean and Just in Time (JIT) manufacturing. Small runs of fabric can easily be printed for sampling purposes. No more hunting for the perfect print, only to find that it’s no longer available when you need more. No such thing as fabric inventory – with a digital printer, it’s possible to print fabric on the same day that it will be cut. You can even have a pattern printed directly on the fabric.
Trends and fast fashion > speed-to-market. Traditional screen printed fabrics usually appear on the market about a year after they are designed. With digital printing, it’s possible to go from the design stage to finished fabric in a matter of weeks (or days, with an on-site printer). This allows you to take advantage of current trends, and even change prints or colors mid-season.
ROTOGRAVURE PRINTING
Rotogravure is a type of
intaglio printing process,
which involves engraving the image onto an image carrier. In gravure printing, the image is engraved onto a cylinder because, like offset printing
and flexography, it uses a
rotary printing press.
Advantages:
Our rotogravure printing process is the most popular printing process used for synthetic materials with guaranteed quality consistency throughout several production lots and repeat orders. Beside premium quality, competitive prices are another benefit for customers.
Other appreciated features include:
- printing cylinders that can last through large-volume runs without the image degrading
- high quality image reproduction
- low per-unit costs running high volume production

FABRIC SOURCING
Nearly 40% of the world production is directly made for the production of polyester yarn.
Features of polyester
Polyester fabrics & fillers are highly durable in nature and contain a great tensile strength. They are resistant to chemicals, stretching, shrinking, abrasion and also wrinkles. In fact by nature, polyester is hydrophobic and dries fast. It is also utilized for insulation through manufacturing of hollow fibers. Amongst several other utilities, polyester is utilized for outdoor clothing and covering because it retains its shape in all kinds of weather. Benefits of polyester fabrics & yarn polyester clothing is convenient washing and dry-cleaning.

In essence, polyester is a 20th Century synthetic fibre derived from coal, air, water and petroleum. It occurs through a chemical reaction between acid and alcohol.
There are two kinds of polyester:
PET, which is polyethylene terephthalate and PCDT, which is poly-1,4,-cylohexylene-dimethylene terephthalate. The fibers are created from very long molecules, which make the yarn stable, and tough.
There are three types of polyester yarn:
textured, filament and spun. The fundamental properties of polyester are utilized in textiles for production of polyester yarns. Polyester may be found in diverse forms in textiles. Polyester filament yarns are utilized in knitting and weaving to create polyester fabrics like consumer fabrics and home furnishing.
